GOLDEN STATE STORM UNVEILS TEAM NAME AND BRAND –THE BAY AREA’S PRO WOMEN’S FOOTBALL TEAM IS HERE

The Bay has a new powerhouse.

Today, we proudly introduce the Golden State Storm — the official name and brand of the Bay Area’s first pro women’s football team, joining the Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) in 2026. Based in Northern California and powered by the grit, culture, and legacy of the Bay, the Golden State Storm will compete in both tackle and flag football at the highest level.

From San Francisco to San Jose, Oakland to Silicon Valley, this team represents a region built on innovation, resilience, and excellence. Thousands of fans submitted name ideas in our community-driven naming campaign, but one rose to the top: Storm - a name that embodies movement, energy, and the future of football.

A Brand Born in the Bay

Our logo, colors, and identity were designed to honor the region we represent. Berkeley Blue, Founder’s Rock, California Gold, and Medalist are more than colors, they’re a reflection of our California roots and the communities we serve.
