Golden State Showdown: Week 3 Matchups Preview

In our third week, the Golden State Showdown will be covering six more impressive girls’ flag football teams at Bay Area high schools. Our coverage team will be heading over to Oakland for Oakland Tech vs. California. Check out the information below to learn more about this week’s matchups!

Featured Showdown: Oakland Tech vs California

Date: 9/11/25

Kickoff: 6:30 P.M.

Location: Oakland Technology High School, Oakland.

Preview: In the previous season, Oakland Tech’s flag football team went undefeated in league with a 9-0 record. California matched this impressive feat with a 7-0 record in 2024. They will play each other in a non-league game, which will count for overall record and possibly determine if they see each other again in CCS. This match will be an exciting one, with skilled players on both sides.

Matchup 2: Las Lomas vs Clayton Valley Charter

Date: 9/10/25

Kickoff: 7:45 P.M.

Location: Clayton Valley Charter High School, Concord.

Preview: Both teams are undefeated and have been beating opponents by notable score differences. This game’s result could predict how the Diablo Athletic League’s rankings fall at the end of the season, or even be a game we see again soon for the league championship. 

Matchup 3: Marina vs Pacific Collegiate

Date: 9/9/25

Kickoff: 4:00 P.M.

Location: Marina High School, Marina.

Preview: This league match is predicted to be a good game, as both teams are starting their seasons off with impressive records. PCHS is currently 1-0 and Marina is 2-1.
