Golden State Showdown: Week 5 Matchups Preview

It is the fifth week of the Golden State Showdown! We will be covering six more skilled high school flag football teams by highlighting three matches. Our in-person coverage team will be attending the Carlmont vs. Sacred Heart Prep game on Sept. 26: two talented teams. Keep reading and stay tuned for more information: 

Featured Showdown: Carlmont vs Sacred Heart Prep

Date: 9/26/2025

Kickoff: 7:00 P.M.

Location: Sacred Heart Prep, Atherton

Preview: Sacred Heart Prep has started the year off strong with a 7-1 record; only Milpitas has defeated them. Carlmont has an almost identical record of 6-1. Both of these teams have demonstrated strong offensive play beating previous opponents by many touchdowns. This matchup could be very close with skilled players on either side of the field.

Matchup 2: Saint Mary’s vs Berkeley

Date: 9/22/2025

Kickoff: 3:00 P.M.

Location: Saint Mary’s College High School, Berkeley

Preview: At the intersection of Saint Mary’s and Berkeley’s strong defense, this match will prove to be an important one for the player’s development.

Matchup 3: Willow Glen vs Hill

Date: 9/25/2025

Kickoff: 7:00 P.M.

Location: Hill High School, San Jose

Preview: In the middle of the season, this league game will help determine final standings and rankings going into CCS.
